Milestone for 50k
Today, I finally did it, I finally reached my 50k milestone for April. That’s 31 miles in the first 11 days of this month. I’m continuing a goal for this week, it’ll get me my 100k milestone if I do it right. See 100k is 62 miles, I’m 31 miles away from that.
The goal I set for myself and my running partner is to do 42 miles this week. That’s six miles a day, for seven days. We’ve already completed two of those days, and we have only five more to go.
I don’t know about all of you, but this feels exciting. 100k in the first 17 days of the month, which sets me up for success of the overall goal, 100 miles this month. I know you all are probably thinking that I’m crazy but that just seems to be the way everything works. I use to love running, and now I’m just getting back into it.
I’m creating this habit in hopes to keep it after I come back from my deployment to Poland. And with how things are going, I feel it’s going to be a win. If not, at least I kept going till the last day and the last minute to reach this lofty goal, and that, that’s success and it will mean celebration!
I encourage you all to try to get 50k in this month. It’s only 31 miles and it’s easily achievable if you ran 12 miles each week for all four weeks of a month. And if you don’t, pat yourself on the back for attempting such a feat. You took the challenge and you got up and you ran, and that’s better than the person who didn’t run. That’s an accomplishment.
As always, be safe, and enjoy your time running. It’s a Sport and you need to look at it as a fun adventure. Let your legs take you somewhere new, and I’ll see you in the next post!
