“As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my Lord, do not delay.” -Psalms 40:17 NLT

Here we read about how we are God’s children, needy and poor. We need to look up to the Lord and ask him to guide us, and to build our spiritual life. For we are newborns in the spirit like we were newborns to our parents. Our mother and father raised us and built us up to be the best we could be. God wants to do the same, he wants to build us up spiritually so we can go out and share the good news to all who are willing to listen.

Ask yourself this, how can we apply this understanding to our life? For me it’s simple, I need to reach out to God and ask him to guide me down the path he has chosen. And to ask Him to make me a better steward of the skills and items he bestowed upon me.

What about you, what are one to three things you can ask the Lord to help you with today?

Lord, please take us, your humble servants, and lead us down a path of righteousness through you. Please help us build a wonderful relationship with you and be good stewards of all that you’ve given us. Help us reflect and build upon You and strengthen our relationships with You. Amen.
